P is for Pelican in ABC Wednesday

According to Wikipedia:
A pelican is a large water bird with a distinctive pouch under the beak, belonging to the bird family Pelecanidae.
And furthermore:
They occur mostly in warm regions, though breeding ranges reach 45° south (Australian Pelican, P. conspicillatus) and 60° North.
Since I live at 60 degrees North, I had to go to a park in London to catch this one.

Today's post is part of the the third round of ABC Wednesday. The founder, Denise Nesbitt, has changed the rules to make the system more practical. There is now a no-comment blog where you can post a copy or short version of your post with a link-back to your original post for the full version and comments. Scanning through this no-comment blog will give you lots of Plenty of Ps (Oh dear...)! She has also set up a site where you can log on via Mr. Linky if you want to do that.
