April 18th
1775: Paul Revere makes his famous midnight ride, warning hundreds of his fellow patriots that the British were coming. Nowadays, we're impressed when someone sends out a Tweet.
1980: The Republic of Zimbabwe comes into being, with Canaan Banana as the country's first President. Banana Republic stores sue for copyright infringement.
2007: The Supreme Court of the United States upholds the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act in a 5-4 decision. In their defense, the four justices who voted against the ban were hoping it wasn't too late to abort Charlie Sheen.
