L is for Lake

The Lake is what in Norwegian is called Store Lungegaardsvann (what charitably might be called Larger Lungegaard's Lake in English). Here is the view towards the south-west one morning last week,

towards the west,

and towards the north-west.

There is a path along the lake where you might find a bench to rest your potentially tired legs and enjoy the view.

If you should wonder how this lake is situated in Bergen, I have included a photo taken previously from the top of Mount Ulriken. You will the see that the lake is not really a lake (although we like to call it that). It is an almost closed bay of what is known as Puddefjorden. If you have sharp eyes you can also see the much smaller Lille Lungegaardsvann (Little Lungegaard's Lake?) slightly above and to the right of its lager sibling.
