1836: Samuel Colt makes the first production-model revolver, the .34-caliber. Before that, there was never any violence or murder.

1933: President Franklin D. Roosevelt declares a "bank holiday", closing all U.S. banks and freezing all financial transactions. President Obama is hoping to do the same thing, but permanently.

1975: First meeting of the Homebrew Computer Club, but had to be adjourned quickly because of the shockingly surprising presence of a girl.
