Turn around and lift you head

Some of you wondered what the view was from the bench in my former post. This might be a small part of it - looking north-west towards the island Askøy.

If you just lifted your head after taking the photo, you would have seen Mon Plaisir, a small pavilion from 1840.

blogging is temporarily disrupted

ouch, ow, blast, ow...

Blogging, I regret to say, is temporarily disrupted. Clearly grubbing for bugs in the compost does not work for me. Somehow I've managed to do something nasty to my lateral and deltoid muscles and the shoulder joint per se - on the right side, and yes, I'm right-handed. Now strapped up in a sling for a few days I'm left with only my left hand, which makes typing and pretty much anything else a bit of a challenge. Still, small mercies, at least it's not as agonising as it was on Sunday night.

I'll be blog visiting though, since there's not much more than reading and watching movies that I can do, just don't expect comments. I'll be back just as soon as I'm more mobile - try not to miss me too much ;-)

T is for Towing by Tugboat

Wikipedia says:
Towing is the process of pulling or drawing behind a chain, line, bar or some other form of coupling. Commonly, towing is done by road vehicles, but anything from boats to tractors to people can tow cargo.
and furthermore:
A tugboat, or tug, is a boat used to maneuver, primarily by towing or pushing, other vessels (see shipping) in harbors, over the open sea or through rivers and canals. Tugboats are also used to tow barges, disabled ships, or other equipment like oil platforms.
In this case it is a Tugboat Towing an oil platform in for maintenance at the Coast Centre Base (CCB) at Ågotnes outside Bergen, Norway, not far from where I live.

Today's post is part of the the third round of ABC Wednesday. The founder, Denise Nesbitt, has changed the rules to make the system more practical. There is now a no-comment blog where you can post a copy or short version of your post with a link-back to your original post for the full version and comments. Scanning through this no-comment blog will give you lots of Tasty Ts. She has also set up a site where you can log on via Mr. Linky if you want to do that.

UPDATE: MR. LINKY IS NOT WORKING,SO PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT AT DENISE NESBITT'S OWN SITE!

Monochrome Monday

The Monochrom monday concept came from Aileni at LOOSE ENDS

Odd shot garbage

Odd shot of garbage thrown where it should not have been? What is so odd about that? It should have been, but unfortunately it is not. What may be odd is that the area's largest recycling company has its main facility within 500 meters.

Please visit Katney's Kaboodle for more about Odd shots!
